Evelyn McKee being presented with the Claonadh Award by Des Drumm, Chairman, Clane Community Council
A special part of the Christmas light switch-on event in the Abbey on Sunday last was the presentation of the Claonadh Award. This is awarded by Clane Community Council to recognise an outstanding contribution to the community of Clane.
This year the Claonadh Award was presented to Evelyn McKee who was recognised for helping found and being the driving force behind the Little Way. This centre in Woods Way on the Kilcock Road provides tremendous assistance and support, free of charge, to people with cancer and their families.
Evelyn was presented with the Claonadh Award by Chairman of Clane Community Council, Des Drumm, and her name has been inscribed on the Community Awards Honour Board in the Main Hall of the Abbey Community Centre.
