Park Landscaping Residents of Loughbollard have worked with Clane Tidy Towns to clear-out a corner of their green in preparation for hedge and tree planting. Included removal of enormous stump of dead tree with JCB & Tractor. | |
Nest-box Scheme Addition of two more nest boxes to Clane Nest-Box Scheme, monitored under NPWS license by members of Birdwatch Ireland Kildare Branch and fed into BTO Nest Monitoring Scheme. | |
Tree Maintenance All trees on Relief Road, in Capdoo and on Main Street reviewed. Tight tree-ties loosened or removed. Rotten/useless tree-stakes removed. | |

Tree planting Abbey Park Residents' Association have planted a stand of trees on their main green. In future years this may form the basis for a Garden of Remembrance. | |
Recycled Christmas Trees used as mulch Christmas trees collected in North Kildare have been shredded locally and are being used as an environmentally-friendly mulch to prevent weeds at the base of the new hedging on the Ballinagappa Road. | |
Maintenance of new Hedge 50 hedging plants were planted along the Sallins Road to replace plants in the new hedge that were grazed by livestock. | |
Wildlife-friendly screening Wildlife-friendly screening has been planted along the walls at the Celbridge-Road Roundabout. | |
Wildlife-friendly hedging Wildlife-friendly hedging has been planted on the Inner-relief road (across from The Oaks, and along the barrier at The Cloisters). | |
Landscaping of Clane signage on Millicent Road The area around the Clane signage on Millicent Road has been re-landscaped, but in a way sympathetic with the local countryside. | |
Wildflower Meadow planting Native wildflower seed has been planted between the new hedging and the conventially grassed area in the centre of the new park beside Hillview. | |
Invasive Species removal Himalayan Balsam, an invasive species, has been carefully removed from the Liffeyside Nature Park in an attempt to protect biodiversity and prevent it spreading upsteam towards the village. | |
Planting of Lime Tree A relatively mature Lime tree has been planted in front of College Road estate. | |
Experimental Butterfly Patch The College Grove residents' association are working with Clane Tidy Towns to experiment with letting the grass grow in a section of the green to see what fauna and flora this might encourage. | |
Derelict site cleanup The Hemingway Park construction site was re-landscaped and made safe in late 2012 / early 2013. | |
Roundabout landscaped The local garden centre based in McKenna's has kindly landscaped the middle roundabout on the Inner Relief Road. | |
WEEE Collection A WEEE Electrial and Electronic Waste Collection has been organised in the grounds of Clane GAA. | |

Promotion of all Local Recycling Facilities All local recycling facilities and other opportunties for reducing the amount of and cost of waste disposal have been gathered into a dedicated web page and advertised on the community website, ClaneCommunity.ie. | |
40 Native Trees Community Planting Project To celebrate 40 Years of Community in Clane, Clane Community Council has offerred to supply 40 native trees to interested Residents' Associations and public landowners in the area. Trees will be picked to suit each site. Applicatinos have been received. Planting is scheduled for autumn 2013. | |
A Native Tree to mark every Parish Baptism To help celebrate the sacrament of baptism, the local parish priest, Fr. Paul, is presenting a beautiful native tree sapling to each child being baptised in the parish - a wonderful way to mark the occassion. |
