As well as organising regular clean-ups, preparing the Clane Tidy Towns plan and entering Clane into the National Tidy Towns competition, the Tidy Towns subcommittee also runs an annual Best Kept Estates Competition and Best Presented Premises Competition.

- Committed to Clane-Up!
Clane Tidy Towns have announced the launch of their new initiative: "Committed to Clane-Up". Business and organisations that commit to cleaning up around their premises are provided with a "Committed to Clane Up" sticker to display in their shop window. Clane Tidy Towns salute the many businesses that have already signed up for playing their part in making Clane an even better place for locals and visitors alike...
- Saving Clane Swifts...
Swifts may grace the skies of Clane for many years to come if recent efforts to create a new breeding site for them are successful. Clane Community Council and Clane Tidy Towns have installed 5 nestboxes in the tower of the Abbey specifically for these birds. Fingers are crossed that the swifts will discover them over the summer months and their presence in Clane will be secured...
- Have you seen our missing nest box?
One of the nest boxes donated to our recent nest box scheme has been removed by somebody in the last few weeks. It was carefully handmade by a local retired gentleman. Can you help us find 'CTT' Nest box 1?

- Spring Clean 2012 - thank you!
A big thank you to everyone who turned out today and in previous days to help clean up the countryside around Clane. A phenomenal amount of rubbish was removed from local roads and ditches, some of it with a JCB, and Clane's Main Street also received a thorough spring clean. - Clane Community Council - Best Themed Float 2012!
Clane Community Council was delighted to be awarded Best Themed Float for the Clane St. Patrick's Day Parade 2012. Featuring Oisín Aosta, Oisín Óg, Niamh and a team of warriors and volunteers from Clane Tidy Towns, the team dragged the last boulder out of Clane, revealing a beautiful village twinned with Tír na nÓg. Clane Tidy Towns and Kildare Branch of Birdwatch Ireland were delighted with the reponse to the Nest Box Scheme for Clane, 2012: a grand total of 17 boxes were donated to the cause and are now installed in and around the town and available to let. Read on to find out more...

- Wild About Clane - Nest Box Scheme!
Have you some spare wood and a jar of screws at the back of the shed? Clane Tidy Towns have hatched a plan for a nestbox scheme in Clane, and would be delighted if you would participate!
- Liffey Cleanup at Clane - Sunday Feb 19th
Clane Trout and Salmon Anglers Association are organising a cleanup along the Liffey on Sunday February 19th. Starting at Alexandra Bridge, the cleanup will continue downstream, along the Liffey walk. Many hands make light work - if you could spare an hour or two why not come along and lend a hand - kick-off at 10:00AM!
- Congratulations to our Best Kept Estates and Premises
On Monday October 17th the winners of Clane Best Kept Estates were announced to an eager audience. With a record 21 local estates entering the competition organised by Clane Tidy Towns, and sponsered by Clane Project Centre, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded for large, medium and small estates.
