And the Claonadh Award 2018 goes to…

Sadie O’Reilly being presented with the Claonadh Award 2018 by Chairman Paul Carroll

Clane Community Council is delighted to reveal that the 2018 winner of the Claonadh Award is Sadie O’Reilly. Sadie was one of the founding members of Clane Musical and Dramatic Society back in 1983 and has been one of the main driving forces behind this highly successful, award-winning group throughout its 35 years of existence. She has held many committee posts including, notably, Chairperson and PRO and, in more recent years, has directed several plays. She directed her first musical, “Carousel”, in 2017. She is a great fund-raiser and is continually searching for new ways both to make money to keep the Society going, and to encourage new members from all age groups.

Sadie was presented with a framed print of the Abbey, the building in which so many of the CMDS shows have been performed, on our Community Awards celebration where we switched on the Christmas Lights. Our special thanks to the wonderful Clane Parish Choir for their selection of carols, and to Doolan’s and AnTea-Que Cafe for providing the refreshments.

A safe and happy Christmas to all from Clane Community Council.
