Clane Community Council would like to propose that parts of Clane, Co. Kildare, be declared a Poster-Free Zone for election campaigns.
Whilst creating a safer and more pleasant environment in areas with particularly high vehicular and pedestrian traffic, we hope this initiative will also appeal to candidates by reducing the expense, labour, and volume of physical posters and tie-wraps associated with election campaigns.
We would be delighted if election candidates could lend their support to this community-driven initiative, and avoid mounting posters in the area highlighted in the map below.
This is a pilot initiative for Clane we would hope to maintain into the future, and so we would greatly welcome any feedback on this scheme. Comments, which can be emailed to ClaneCommunityCouncil@gmail.com, will be gathered and shared with the Community Council for consideration.
